I have seen Bradley Freeman speak in person on a few occasions and use his work with Sesame Street in my classroom daily. He spoke to our students last year about the importance of following their dreams and never giving up. This was important to our students because often, adolescent children may choose to not try activities that may result in failure or fear of trying new things. His words of encouragement and his perseverance spoke volumes. I am more than sure that after they heard him speak, he encouraged many of our students to go out and try new things, or simply validated that their hopes and aspirations are within reach with hard work.
